Sam Sparro Self Titled Rar File
Don't write Moby off, dude. Have seen pretty much all you've listed there and by far, both Axwell and Felix were the most disappointing. Axwell was on a main stage where he only played 30 seconds of each of the songs he produced,.just. missing the main drops of most of them (especially the remode of I Found You.
The drop in that is incredible but he skipped over it completely). Diggers is alright if he isn't using Ableton (saw him do a vs w/ Sasha, was very average) and AvH is pretty good.
Australian-born vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Sam Sparro shot to fame with the release of his 2008 debut single, 'Black and Gold.' His style of music is derived from contemporary R&B, particularly his gospel-trained vocals, and often harks back to the '80s, but it's a thoroughly modern style, driven by state-of-the-art electronic dance production techniques and sounds. A RAR file is a special computer file format that can store single or multiple documents and folders in a compressed form. The file can later be decompressed to extract the original documents and folders. The term RAR is an abbreviation of Roshal ARchive, derived from the name of its creator Eugene. RAR is the native format of WinRAR archiver. Like other archives, RAR file is a data container storing one or several files in compressed form. If you downloaded RAR file from Internet, you need to unpack its contents in order to use it. How to open a RAR file. WinRAR provides the complete support for RAR files, so you can both create.
Just a shame that he's not in that phase where he's playing tracks like his remix of Hustler. If you haven't before, see Big Black Cox. He's a fucking epic DJ, you'd be sorry if you miss him. Btkadams 11:18 PM. Haven't seen Chemical Brothers? I saw them when they were touring for Push the Button.
They were rubbish:( Seeing them prior to that at a festival when touring for Surrender? Fucking epic. I also saw Orbital this year (Doctor? Omg) and almost saw EDC.
Supposedly insane. Saw Fake Blood this year, sucked because he didn't play Mars or Fix Your Accent. And there was no bottom end on the system he was playing on. Did find out about Cheap and Cheerful, though. As far as that broadcast goes, they need to air Wolfgang Gartner. Dude can play a set to slay even the hardest motherfuckers.
Patrick Bateman 04:13 PM. I took a shitload of pics from EZ (bought a new camera specifically for the event), will upload them soon.

EZ was fucking AWESOME. Day 1 was great - Tom Middleton played a weird mix of dubstep, d&b and cheesy house. Joris Voorn played loopy funky house, Kaskade, Steve Bug, Richie Hawtin.
The sound in the Sunday School tent (where all the techno/minimal/tech house guys played) was to die for. Day 2 was absolutely mindblowing. Grum, Aeroplane, John Digweed, Dusty Kid, Orchard Lounge, the 3-man team of David Squillace/Matthias Tanzmann/Martin Buttrich.
I'm so glad electronic music is finally taking off in NYC in a big way, only problem is a lot of DJs playing it 'safe' by playing obvious anthems. I swear, if I hear Swedish House Mafia-One again:P The artists Sirius XM picked, wtf. No Digweed or Aeroplane?
I ran out of the room 5 minutes after he came on. Fucking awful (I think reggae music is some of the most vile and repugnant stuff out there personally). Okno 04:59 PM. The more I hear about how good the sound was in the Sunday school grove tent, the more I wish I had gone. Bunker Friday night with the Clone crew was killer. Repeat Soundsystem took two hours to get properly started, but they slated once they did. I spent the majority of the first three hours in the front room listening to Bethany Benzur, a local Brooklyn DJ who tore it the fuck up!
Definitely keep an eye on her if you like funky, disco-influenced house. Anyone who plays 'Pop Musik (Todd Terje rmx) by M gets an A+ in my book! Dexter after her played a really grooving tech-house set. Bunker next month is going to have Peter van Hoesen AND Mount Kimbie! Friday at Love is Roman Flugel (5 hour set!) and a super rare live performance by TRANVERSABLE WORMHOLE!
I'm so stoked! So many amazing parties in the next few weeks. This weekend also played host to a Bpitch Control party, but it was somewhere in the middle of nowhere Queens, so I didn't bother going. It was also $45 and yeah no. Patrick Bateman 05:43 PM. It's Superpitcher. Four Tet did a podcast for them ages ago./QUOTE Right you are.

QUOTE=DartasticI know this probably should go in the music production thread, but I'm wondering, that technique where someone kind of stops the entire mix and loops a section for a second or so? It kinda stutters, or beat repeats or something, but most people drop it in so well.

Pretty much everyone uses it, it seems, and I have no clue how the hell to do it. Halp!?!?!?/QUOTEDepends on the setup, but new mixers have a specific button for it. I forget the name of it, but you loop a specific number of beats in a measure or several bars, depending on how you set it up. You just push the button and it loops.
It's really simple. You set the start and end measure, and you can also just make it loops the last 4 beats, last 8 or last 2 with the switch of a knob. Also, everyone should really get those Four Tet and Superpitcher mixes. Subrock 06:03 AM.

urlBeen going through the CLR podcast backlog tonight. Should be sleeping now, but the Ben Klock live at 'BE' in Ibiza is keeping my blood pumping. The DJ Emerson and Peter Van Hoesen mixes are both excellent, as well as the Marcel Dettmann, Drumcell and Lucy ones. Most of you here would probably get a kick out of the various Adam Beyer podcasts he's done, although there is definitely something for everyone on there. God bless techno (hurray for umbrella terms!). Edit: It should be noted that all of the podcasts can be downloaded for free through iTunes. I wish I had known this earlier, but still a very nice thing to find.

Metroid Killer 12:24 PM. So recently joelseph introduced me to Mount Kimbie in the Pantha Du prince thread and I've been digging around for more music the past days. Is it just me or has 2010 been THE year for electronic album releases?? Mount Kimbie - Crooks and Lovers Four Tet - There Is Love in You Caribou - Swim (just discovered this, soo good) Pantha du Prince - Black Noise Just to name a few There are so many artists around and I admit I don't quite got a grasp of the electronic scene(or any grasps at all). But 2010 seem to be flooded with absolutely solid electronic albums. Btkadams 03:16 PM.

BAnd here we go:/B NEW MOVES // ZOMBY - urlIt’s been pretty quiet on the Zomby front over the past twelve months or so, the man of mystery putting little out since last year’s absolutely glorious Digital Flora 10” on Brainmath.
Alongside ‘Tarantula’, his contribution to Hyperdub’s Five Years Of compilation, it pointed towards a gradual evolution of his sound, away from the sickly gloop of his self-titled EP and One Foot Ahead Of The Other’s day-glo dancefloor antics. Instead, it saw him craft a deep, beautifully understated form of house – at the time I described it as ‘something that could soundtrack a film noir set along the banks of the modern day Thames bathed in eddies of purple murk, with tiny flashes of melody sweeping past like car headlights’ – something he’s further honed with a raft of new sounds emerging over the last couple of weeks. urlFirst up, his contributions to Ninja Tune’s twentieth anniversary collection, both of which turned up on a foolishly cheap 12” alongside excellent material from The Bug, Daedelus and Two Fingers.
‘The Forest’ could almost be ‘Digital Flora’ Part Two, exploring much the same twilight region, all aquatic, rippling percussion and garish casio tones that pirouette like bubbles of air through water. Alongside the gradually attenuating drum rolls of the crushing ‘Orchid’, it has an evocative, Drexciyan charm. Both feel far shorter than their runtimes, and they seem to absorb all the energy out of the space surrounding them – the only solution seems to be to spin the record again.
And then, for the first time in about a year, Dusk & Blackdown’s (reliably excellent) Rinse FM show last week contained one of their traditional Zomby showcases, unearthing some new more of his new material. This short mix shows him in similarly contemplative form – all seven tracks blend into one, deeply melodic whole, tough to separate into constituent parts but seeing him smoothly move from beatless Devil mix-style grime to his most disorienting music yet. At times the sharp angles seem almost impossible to navigate – let alone dance to! – but at one point I’m pretty sure Erykah Badu’s voice appears for a fraction of a second before disappearing into the depths again. The mix starts at about 1:07:30 into the show - which is available to download here. Bcont/B urlMe & Dusk were Rinse FM on Thurs.
