Obari Masami (大張正己) is a Japanese anime director, animation director and mecha and character designer. 大張正己 画集 ロボ魂-ROBOT SOUL- is the artbook of robot drawings by Obari Masami.
It's a 144-page paperback with dust jacket. There's this wrap-around strap on the cover that describes him as a 'natural-born robot master'. It may not be too far from the truth. He has drawn robots for quite a number of anime and comics. This is the whole list of titles where the robots come from, as they appear in the book:. It's an impressive and almost scary list.
About 120 pages are all filled with full colour full page illustrations with anime style colouring and line work. The art is fantastic. They are mostly Japanese style giant robots.
You won't see many of them transforming. The rest of the pages are some sketches and an interview (in Japanese). Great book for those who like mecha or robot art books. Here are direct links to the book:.
What do you mean you acquired it legally if you got it from another forum:v Also, aren't most of these the same as the gallery here has? Everything named zoe01-50 is the exact same image as in the ZOE2 scans gallery here, and I mean exact:v I was hoping for a proper consistent, quality scan of the ZOE2 artbook, but these are obviously from various sources.
